BRONZE GONGS
The Paiste 28" Bronze Gong Collection. Due to the high copper content, the colors of the gongs are warm-reddish with a range from golden shimmer to dark brown earth tones. Compared to gongs made of nickel silver, these gongs tend to have a deeper fundamental tone, a warmer sound character and a more voluminous overall sound. The continuous character is lively, warm and deep. Due to the nature of the alloy, the sound of bronze gongs changes over time through relaxation, aging and the influence of the gong playing significantly more than with gongs made of nickel silver. The basic character is always maintained, but bronze gongs live and change. We assume that, that bronze gongs will continue to change after delivery over time and under the influence of the player. Through continuous action and reaction and the resulting constant gentle change, there is a unique mutual influence between the gong and the player.

Paiste Bronze Gongs — Warm, Cinematic Power
Handcrafted in Germany, Paiste Bronze Gongs are prized for their grounded fundamental, dark bloom, and immersive sustain. Compared with nickel–silver Symphonic gongs, Bronze offers a warmer, “smokier” character that grows from a centered tone into a spacious, musical wash—perfect for sound baths, meditation, film scoring, and intimate performance spaces.
Why Bronze?
Warm, organic voice with a deep, rounded fundamental
Controlled, cinematic swell that won’t overpower smaller rooms
Wide dynamic range: articulate at a whisper; huge when you lean in
Plays well in mixed rigs beside Symphonic, Planet, and Sound Creation gongs
Who It’s For
Sound healers seeking grounded, meditative lows
Musicians and composers after moody textures and long, evolving overtones
Studios needing a close-mic friendly gong that sits beautifully in a mix

FAQs
What’s the difference between Paiste Bronze and Symphonic gongs?
Bronze voices are warmer and moodier with a deep fundamental and controlled swell; Symphonic (nickel–silver) are broader and more brilliant with a brighter shimmer.
Is a 28" Bronze good for group sound baths?
Yes—28" is a versatile size: powerful enough for small–medium groups while remaining controllable in intimate spaces.
Do Bronze gongs record well?
They’re excellent for recording: fast bloom, complex overtones, and a warm tail that layers easily with other instruments.
Which mallet should I start with for 28"?
Most players start with M5 for full bloom, then add M4 (lighter touch) or M6 (bigger wave) as a second voice.
Can I mix Bronze with Planet or Symphonic gongs?
Absolutely. Bronze provides a deep, grounding layer that complements the clarity of Symphonic and the tuned focus of Planet gongs.
